Retreat to the calm of the Marrakech Palmeraie, and travel like a Berber on a 3-hour tour from Marrakech. Ride along palm-shaded desert trails to verdant oases, and enjoy traditional Moroccan mint tea and honey pancakes.

 

Following a pick-up from your hotel, cross the desert sands to the Marrakech Palmeraie and marvel at a serene grove of palm trees just 20 minutes from the city center. Put on a traditional check (headscarf) and pandora (robe-like garment) to protect your skin from the sand and beating sun.

 

Then, a camel handler will get you seated comfortably atop your well-behaved camel. Sit back as you ride beneath the rustling palms, traveling from the picturesque Kasbah to the banks of the Oued Tansift wadi that forms lush oases during the rainy season.

 

Pass lime kilns and see the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains. Meander down desert trails to the rural oases of Oulad Mansour and Oulad Ali. Soak up the peaceful surroundings as your camel plods along and loops back to the Kasbah. Conclude your desert adventure with a hot cup of mint tea and a snack of honey-drenched msemens (crispy stuffed crepes) or baghrirs (soft crepes).
